Baseball betting might be one of the easiest games when it comes to picking winners and losers correctly in the long run. You won’t get fantastic odds picking the favourites a lot of times, but none the less, you can bank some significant money simply by making sure you understand and follow one simple, almost unbreakable rule of baseball betting.
In baseball games, the starting pitcher is almost always the biggest factor in who is going to win and who is going to lose. Head to MLB.com and look at the stats for some of the best pitchers in the game and you’ll notice something. Namely that they win. They win a lot. In fact they win so much more than they lose that you can bank good coin by betting your baseball games based on starting pitcher matchups.
When you’re looking to pick your games, simply head into the game data and look at who is starting for each team. More often than not, you won’t see two all-stars butting heads. It does happen, but very rarely. Pitchers are on a set rotation, and the odds of one teams superstar coming up against the others just isn’t that big. If you do see a game like that, skip it.
Instead, what you’re looking for is matchups that are noticeably uneven. You want games where team A has their number one ace going up against the low end of team B’s rotation. These games won’t give you big odds, in fact they’ll be very slender. But the beauty is that if you’re careful in your analysis, you’ll win so many of these games that the profits will start to add up.
There is one caveat though. A terrible bullpen can all but negate a great starter unless that starter is good for at least 8 inning. The way to analyze this is to check into the teams’ bullpens and see how many blown games they’re sitting on. Generally speaking though, betting on the big guns, the 20 win guys, will result in consistent, measurable profits that will really stack up over time.

Good article here. People need to realize that the best way to bring in the money is to stick with the safe games and be happy with the winnings.
Going for long shots all the time and ignoring things like pitching dominance beause the odds aren’t huge is a surefire way to lose money.
